The Challenge

Do you want to play a leading role in rebuilding the look and feel of Avira products for Windows? If yes, with this opportunity you can lay the technological foundation for the global success of our products. You'll also be able to unleash your talent to deliver well-integrated solutions that offer a unique user experience. Working with cross-functional teams you'll get to steer decisions, approaches, and results in your own agile scrum development team and collaborate with others outside it.

The Team

You'll be part of an agile development team of experienced software engineers. This team forms part of our cross-functional Windows Consumer Suites business unit. It comprises 30 passionate engineers who are responsible for developing and marketing Avira’s core offerings on the Windows platform.

What you will do

You will collaborate closely with software engineers, designers, UX engineers, data analysts and product managers on the following activities:
  • Development of automated (UI-) tests in C#
  • Manual software and feature tests
  • Develop and maintain performance tests
  • Ensuring software and product quality
  • Planning test strategies and priorities
  • Formulating test scenarios, setting up test infrastructure, and developing test automation tools and scripts
  • Building and checking dashboards for reporting quality assurance metrics
  • Inspiring the team by teaching best practices and constantly designing better and more creative ways to break software

 

Your profile:

  • Master's or Bachelor’s degree in computer science
  • Coding experience in C#
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows environments
  • Experience in test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases and debugging
  • Knowledge of software-versioning control tools such as Git
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Knowledge of Continuous Delivery (CD)
  • Knowledge of quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts, and the ability to identify product-quality KPIs
